"Aux Dog Theatre’s production of “Tick, Tick … BOOM!” may not end in an explosion, but it does end with a satisfying analysis of teen identity.... The small cast is a boon for the show.... Reinholz and Sanchez occasionally get to play smaller parts, making for the funniest and some of the most enjoyable portions of the show. There are clever props adding to the humor, as well as an attractive set, provided by Karin Pitman, the set and prop designer."

" is a charming, even sort of loveable, 90 minutes... Jason Adam Cox... is just so darn likeable as Jon that he brightens up the stage and, since he never leaves it, the whole show becomes delightful. Everything he does is totally natural and winning. Brittany Reinholz as Susan, the girlfriend, acts and sings very well.... Gilbert Sanchez.... as usual is excellent.... "

"Director Scott Schuster has staged a successfully entertaining production of “Tick, Tick … BOOM!” at the Aux Dog Theatre.... Karin Pitman has cleverly transformed the Aux Dog stage, surrounding the set with her brooding cityscape. Seah Johnson’s lighting design helps focus audience attention.... Reinholz has a bright, resonant voice and is effective as Susan. Sanchez has the best voice of the trio and plays Michael with confidence. His rendition of “Real Life” is a highlight of the show. As Jon, Jason Adam Cox is thoroughly likeable."
